The Kunshan Wusong River Bridge Overall Jacking Project
The overall jacking project of the Kunshan Wusong River Bridge is located in Kunshan. This project was successfully completed on May 17, 2018. It belongs to the renovation project of a low-tower cable-stayed bridge. It is also one of the largest and heaviest overall jacking projects of its kind among similar bridges in China. The total weight of the bridge’s main piers is approximately 27,000 tons. The overall jacking height is 1.8 meters.
The large structural load imposes very high requirements on the construction. The project team must achieve extremely high synchronization control accuracy. Only in this way can the safety of the bridge structure be guaranteed.
Our company provided a complete hydraulic jacking solution for the project. The system is equipped with 80 hydraulic jacks. Each has a rated load of 500 tons. The total lifting capacity reaches 40,000 tons. The system has a maximum working pressure of 70 MPa. It uses a PLC synchronous control system for centralized control. The synchronization accuracy can reach ±0.1 mm.
The construction is divided into five stages. A real-time displacement monitoring system is deployed on site. The pressure feedback closed-loop control is also running throughout the process. The project also establishes follow-up support and protection measures. At the same time, an emergency unloading system is equipped.
The final jacking operation was successfully completed. The entire process had no safety incidents. The lifting deviation was controlled within 0.08 mm. All indicators of the bridge structure met the design requirements. This project verified the hydraulic jacking system’s high reliability and precision. It also set a technical benchmark for the overall jacking construction of large-scale bridges in China.
